Oxford University Amateur Boxing Club is one of the oldest boxing clubs in the UK, founded in 1881. Each year the club members train and compete in a number of boxing shows and events, which culminate in our annual Varsity match against Cambridge.

Hi all, I’m Haobai, a second-year PPEist at Magdalen College. I fell in love with boxing at the OUABC, and the club has quickly become like a second family to me. I’m excited to see everyone this year at training, and I can’t wait to see the team we build together. As President, I’m always available should you have any queries or concerns. I look forward to getting to know each of you, and to the great year we have ahead of us.

I joined OUABC fairly recently, deciding to give boxing a try after previously doing judo and wrestling. I quickly found myself drawn to both the sport and the club, developing new skills while making some great friends along the way. OUABC has a proud history and a long tradition of competitive success, and it’s a privilege to now be part of that. As Vice-President, I’m looking forward to helping the club continue to develop, supporting everyone who trains with us, and contributing to even more success in the years ahead.

My name is Gabriele (Gabi). I look forward to helping lead the club as women’s captain once again. I joined OUABC in Freshers’ Week of first year, and have been a constant presence at the club ever since. I love seeing people progress, whether that be in ability, fitness - or even just confidence, and am keen to help them achieve. I am always willing to train with anyone, and can often be found on long walks. The club has taught me the meaning of true friendship and teamwork, and I hope that others will gain as much from being part of it as I have.

Hi! I’m Henry, a fourth-year Psychology and Philosophy student at St John’s. I started boxing in my first year and have since had the privilege of competing three times for the University. Boxing has given me so much, both inside and outside the ring, and I’m excited to give back to the club that has played such a big part in my university experience. As Men’s Captain, I’m looking forward to supporting everyone in the club, helping us develop as boxers and a team, and doing everything I can to help us smash Cambridge!

I joined OUABC about a year ago and have had a great time ever since. One of the club’s biggest strengths is the mix of experienced and novice boxers, creating a space where people can train and compete seriously while still having fun and enjoying the social side of the club. Hey, I'm Harrison, a 3rd year Biochemist and i'm honoured to be taking up the role of Welfare officer for the coming year. It is often understated the importance of nurturing a safe environment that ensures people feel welcomed whilst still allowing room for real growth and improvement. Over the coming year I hope to help ensure that this is achieved so that everyone can fufill their true potential! I am always open to talk (both in person or online through the various channels available) and want to make sure everyone feels safe to come forward with any problems (or improvements) with the club.
